He was the most prestigious French general, after his brilliant campaigns in Italy and Egypt.
The coup on the 18 th Brumarius 1799 ended the French Revolution and gave power to Bonaparte. From there, he difunded revolutionary ideas and conquered Europe.
In 1804 he proclaimmed himself Emperor of France as Napoleon I (Le Sacre de Napoléon (J. Louis David, 1805-1807)).
