Red Hawk (born in 1854) was a prominent leader and a fierce warrior of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) tribe. His life spanned a critical period of resistance against the encroachment of the United States:
Early Battles: He joined his very first war party in 1865, fighting alongside the legendary leader Crazy Horse against U.S. Army troops.
Military Career: Red Hawk ultimately engaged in 20 distinct battles, most notably participating in the famous Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876 (often referred to as the Custer fight).
